Comments
The built-in commenting feature of Ghost enables members to engage in discussions, encouraging them to participate directly on your website and become active contributors in the community.
Ghost's built-in comments let your members join the conversation directly on your posts — turning readers into an active community. Comments are supported out of the box; you simply choose who's allowed to take part.
Enabling Comments
- In your Ghost Admin, open Settings → Membership.
- Scroll down to the Access section.
- Find the Who can comment on posts? setting and pick an option.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Who Can Comment

| All members | Every signed-in member — free or paid |
| Paid-members only | Paid subscribers only |
| Nobody | Comments are turned off across your site |
Readers need to be signed in as a member to leave a comment. Visitors will see a prompt to sign up or log in first.
